Texmaker is only an editor. To work with LaTeX, a LaTeX distribution (texlive or miktex on windows, texlive on linux, mactex on mac) is required in addition to an editor.

If you see a warning "Texmaker.app can't be opened because the developer cannot be verified" : control-click the texmaker.app in Finder, choose Open from the menu, and then click Open in the dialog that appears. Enter your admin name and password to open the app.

The Qt toolkit (>=6) is required to compile this version of Texmaker.
Can be compiled with gcc, clang and msvc.
To propose some code, just make a patch from the latest source tarball and click on the "Contact" link.
Warnings : all new code must have been tested before being proposed. Untested patches will be automatically rejected and all new features must follow the guide line of the project :
